STRANGE CALL

From a long distance
Someone calls me at midnight
The familiar voice swims on wind
Goes through the church tower
Hides into cherry trees
Echoes flow on the silence
Unknown singer recites guitar near
The cemetery gate, souls are
Hypnotized, they sit leisurely
Listen calmly as a delicate scent
Influences the heart slowly
Far away may be passing
The speedy train
Whistles break the darkness
Moon says good-bye
Wild weeds relax for a moment
The terrain trembling goes
Down, left over some moonlight
Doesn’t want to leave the
Wetland, lotus have not bloom
Completely, I keep your
Photograph on the chest, trying
To sleep, I read your
E-mails frequently entire night
Search the address in your
Profile, but didn’t get any clue
The stranger call I think
Returned back to horizon line
An exhausted dream desires to sleep
On the lap of beautiful dawn
In backyard birds are twittering
I don’t know, why they wake
Up so earlier,
- SHANTANU SANYAL
